A JETA-sponsored Back-to-School Night for Parents…An Invitation to BOE members, inviting them in for the day, to see firsthand, a day in the life of a teacher... These are just a few ways JETA might make connections with parents and the community. What are some of your ideas? Feel free to post them here. As I have said before, one of my goals as president is to foster these kinds of relationships. If we can build an alliance with the community, we increase our influence and control over the educational landscape we navigate every day. When the community sees JETA as a partner in education, as a valuable source of knowledge and expertise, we gain a powerful political voice in the community, a voice that is difficult to ignore. Let’s use our voice.
